Hi All! New to the group! I have a a 77 Scout II that I pulled the engine out of about 7 years ago and had it rebuilt. I’m finally in a good spot to where I can reinstall the engine. Problem is 7 years is a long time! I think some other things might need replacing! Can anyone help?

You would definitely want to swap out engine mounts, transmission mounts while you are at it... Of course all your bushings and mounts would need to be inspected and don't forget the brake system...

Don't feel bad: I just reinstalled my engine that 's been sitting since 1988! - Along with the trans and transfer case. Where had the engine been sitting? in the elements? in the garage? covered up? Also, where are you located, and don't feel too shy about asking for help. We all have an interest in the same thing: SCOUTS!

The engine has been in the garage. Not exposed..I will take a look at the mounts. I am located in Fontana north of the 210 between circus and sierra. Thanks guys for the help!

There's going to be a Scout meet up at Farmer Boys in Riverside this Saturday, it would be cool if you came by, we're going to be doing a little mechanical inspection that weekend to prepare for the upcoming Calico event next month.

Update on my engine status. Prolly gonna have to do a LS install instead of using the original engine. Has anyone done this? I’m worried about the pattern of the trans not matching up.
