The way we are judging this year has not changed!
If you will be in any category other than stock, I would like to strongly encourage you to pre-type a list of all the modifications you have made to your vehicle to save you the trouble of doing it at the event! You can even send me your list here, through this website, as long as I get it before I leave for the event.
Vehicles are judged as they sit at the event, but almost everything you have ever done to or put in your IH counts as a modification!
Wide Angle Mirror Dots on your side mirrors? Thats a modification and it entitles you to bonus points for safety!
Fire Extinguisher? Another safety modification!
Tool Bag under a seat? Points for added utility!
Chrome Lug nuts? Points for added aesthetics!
Chrome Plated Fire Extinguisher? Points for aesthetics AND safety!
There is an enormous list of items that net you a fixed amount of points as well as a system of giving points to all kinds of weird stuff you might have done. No matter how unusual it is, I have a method to give you points for it.
If you have had your IH more than 10 years, the list of things you have put in it or done to it is probably more than 50 lines long. Don't wait to make this list; it is hard to remember everything when you are 8 beers in at 11pm the night before judging!
For the rest of you, BRING YOUR IH. It doesn't need to be a trailer queen. People come to this event to see, drive, and ride in your IH rig, no matter how pretty it is. The show and shine event is for EVERYONE who brings an IH, and there are so many awards to give out that the odds are good that your IH will net you one.

Re: Judging!
There have been questions.
1. If it wasn't an option on your vehicle, then it is a modification.
2. Almost everything you have ever done to your IH counts. Drawing your own highlights on the word "International" with nailpolish counts. I draw the line at stickers. I probably will not give you points for stickers.
3. You can send me your modifications list (STOCK JUDGING REGISTRANTS DO NOT NEED SUCH LISTS) as a PM here, or to jacob.redbeard@gmail.com. Alternatively you could bring such a list and hand it to me in paper form, HOPEFULLY LEGIBLE, at IHWR. But, why waste the paper? IF you do email me such a list, please be sure that I send you something in response letting you know that I got your list. Otherwise, you should assume I did not receive it. Please do not give me modifications lists any later than Wednesday, April 19th 2017.
4. THOROUGHNESS is key to winning a modified category. This is a modification list for a scout that many of you may be familiar with. This is not the most detailed list I have ever seen, but this scout scores better than I think it will every year because the list is very complete. Note: this is not a judgment I pass on this scout, if anything I think this scout is more trail ready than many simply because this rig always has rescue parts. https://www.pdf-archive.com/2017/03/30/dv/
5. To date, I have only received one list. YOU DO NOT WANT TO WRITE ME A THREE PAGE ESSAY DURING THE EVENT. Do your lists ahead of time, and get them to me.
