Re: VOLUNTEERS FOR IHWR 2018
Might be willing to help with tech inspections on Friday.
There is no need for a bottle neck at registration. Let people come in. Then just inspect the rig at thier camp as they unpack. Can ask them questions as they set up camp.
Inspection list is easy. What ever is mandatory on the cal 4 wheel list all rigs must have. If going on the hard run the run leader can add a couple requirements like front locker and minimum 33 inch tires with at least half tread on them.
I also think we need to have some sort of passed sticker system like the past, it doesn't need to be elaborate like 2016, but at least like an orange round for pass, yellow for fail.

Big John
Let's start were we need to, getting a Chair or Co-Chairs for the event. He/She or they are the most important part to run the event. In 2017, our hands were severely restricted by lack of a website, plus, just trying to get a date, charity and the donation letter, hinder our efforts this year. Going forward, we have a date set, KOA has our area reserved and agreed to giving us a 10% discount; and myself having been educated in the little facets that I did not know or learned of at the '12th' hour, will not be repeated. Many problems or wrinkles will be non-issues next year because of the aforementioned starting blocks in place for 2018. My goal, and that of the BOD, will be to have registration open in the early fall. We will not have those road blocks that made navigating 2017 IHWR start up difficult, thereby creating a ground for unforeseen wrinkles to trip over. Our path will be smoother next year.
Yes, we had issues, but we also had a large turnout in preregistration and you sold more tickets than in years past for our charity's benefit. 2017 was a success, but had issues. I agree we need more help in many areas, but in due time, those areas will be identified and we will fill the empty slots for 2018, avoiding the bumps of 2017.
I appreciate the enthusiasm and people have already made reservations at the KOA for 2018. San Diego has committed to doing the pancake breakfast again. You have committed to selling tickets and I hope to have another Friday activity planned. Thank you again for suffering great pain to help sell those tickets.

I will help with the raffle once again unless Jason wants to do it. He mentioned to me he wants to do it in 2018 but I have not spoken to him since 2017 IHWR

Re: VOLUNTEERS FOR IHWR 2018
I told little John I'd volunteer for registration at the Jan. main meeting. I'm still in on for volunteering and will be showing up Thursday to help set up. I'm open to do t shirt sales, ihwr and scoutswest items sales or tech inspection also wherever I'm need. I'll be travelling solo . the rest of family will be coming up Friday night.
