I just had an issue with serious 2 bbl carb flooding on my 1975 304 v. So, after many adjustments and replaced parts, I installed a new Holly fuel regulator, and kept the factory Holly settings unchanged. It now runs fine at idle, but has lower power under normal drive condition.
Carb settings at 2 turns from full lean toward rich (counter clock wise), which seems to be the typical specs in these forums.
Any comments regarding carb or fuel regulator settings to increase power?
Update: Power problem may have been a plug wire. However now serious flooding. Rechecked everything, carb settings at leaner settings, new fuel regulator at lower pressure, new needle valve and seat, float is dry and adjusted per specs., runs OK when cold, but serious flooding ( stalls) when the engine heats up.
Fuel pressure reads 4.5 psi.
Any thoughts???
