Baofeng Radio Group buy

Post by 73IHC »

Hey guys, we discussed this at the GV meeting but basically more of us are using the Rugged radios or Baofengs. Now for the record you can monitor HAM frequencies but need a license to transmit unless it is an emergency. Hopefully more of us can get our HAM licenses too.
Now I was ripped off by Rugged radios, 2 radios at events were about $140 or so. But I learned a few lessons, and can program radios for everyone in the group buy. Rugged Radios come with 28 channels, I program about another 70 or so. SOCAL ham channels, FMRS(No License required), GMRS, and even KFI and KNX radio stations. The radio also comes with FM radio and a flashlight. I can program the radio to have your name on it when you turn it on too.
Not to many members were at the meeting today but we already have 3 interested.

1. Rick
2. Karen
3. Curtis

I don't mind ordering a 10 pack and having them ready for the next meetings. These are the ones I would recommend;
https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Power-Transc ... io+10+pack

We can also order them in different colors but a little more than the 10 pack;

I already own one of these guys they are great little radios. I would recommend also getting the handheld speaker/mic and higher capacity battery.

And a NA-771 antenna, the one that comes with it isn't very good.

Currently have 2 radios for Vic and Debbie....

Bruce Harrington purchased the last 2 but I will order another 10 pack since a few other GV members and Thomas were interested...

I have been reading up on the radios I did order and they are more like a Baofeng BF-F8HP Radio... Closer to $60 each. More than likely they are closing out on this model and thats why they are about $32 each.
